Website Development Log #2: Links in New Tabs, Link Portal

Heyo! This website update is dedicated to stuff involving links. Lots to get into on this one so let’s start!

Before We Start

Before we begin, I’d like to self promote something… As you have probably saw on the homepage, I have a new track coming out with Intrust called “Space Cadet”. It’s an energetic and whimsical space-themed Color House track with some added Color Trance elements, and we’re excited to finally get this one out to you all after working on it for quite a bit! It’s out on the thirteenth of June, and it would mean the world to us I you could pre-save it!

New Tabs, Same Links

This new update to the website focuses a bit on links. First off, links that go outside of this website will now launch in a new tab. I’d like to thank my dad for helping point this out and testing it with the pre-save link on the homepage, as this is a pretty important thing to add for making sure people can get back to my website easily after going to an outside link. With that, I’ve coded this new behavior for links into all outside links on both the homepage and, of course, my links page.

Enter the Link Portal

That reminds me, time to drop something in regards to all my links..

Coding a website has been pretty fun. Plus, I’m able to design things the way I’d like without even needing to worry about fitting in with another site’s layout or look. And with that, I am considering coding a site similar to my Linktree but a bit more personal. And progress on that begins now.

Obviously it’s not too pretty at the moment as it’s just a standalone copy/paste page of my links page, but.. progress is progress so far. Eventually this will look way better and I’ll replace my Linktree with it. But in its current state, it’s probably not ready for the spotlight yet and I’ll more than likely keep using my Linktree for now.. Though do keep an eye on it and provide me with some feedback if you’d like!

Conclusion

That’s pretty much it for this update. More developments will come, and I’ll still be coding some new additions to this site as I have ideas. In the meantime, do let me know via email, a Bluesky or Discord DM if there’s any issues or anything is broken or have any other feedback!
